Post your videos for SoloQ
SoloQ does not host any file : every video of the feed comes from rule34.xxx. To be on SoloQ, post your animation there. Our catalog reads rule34 every two hours, so a new video reaches the feed within a few hours, with your name on it.
This guide is for the animators who want their work to be found by the right people.
1. The format
- MP4 only. The feed plays MP4 files : WebM and GIF are not shown. Encode in H.264 with AAC sound, it plays everywhere.
- Vertical is king. SoloQ is a vertical feed, watched on phones : a 9:16 (or 4:5) video fills the screen and gets a bonus in the recommendations. A horizontal video works too, with black bars.
- Resolution. 720p at least : the very small videos (under 640×360) are pushed back.
- Sound. Videos with sound get a bonus, and the viewers watch them longer. Tag it
soundon rule34. - Length. Short loops work, but videos watched to the end count the most : make the first seconds count, and avoid long black intros.
2. The tags that matter
SoloQ sorts the videos by the tags of rule34. They decide who sees your video.
- Your artist tag : always. It credits you on every video, gives you an artist page on SoloQ, and lets the viewers follow you : your new videos then wait for them in their Following tab.
- The game or series (copyright) :
overwatch,genshin_impact,final_fantasy_vii… Every game with enough videos has its own page. - The characters, with their official rule34 name :
d.va,tifa_lockhart,yorha_2b. A misspelled character is invisible. - Describe the content precisely (positions, body type, outfit) : the feed learns the tastes of every viewer from these tags.
- Technical tags :
sound,vertical_video(if rule34 did not detect it),3d,animated. - Voice actors and sound designers : credit them with their own tag, SoloQ tells them from the animators.
3. The thumbnail
rule34 makes the thumbnail from your video. SoloQ uses it everywhere : in the collections, the pages, and to recognize the copies of a video.
- Do not start on a black frame : the thumbnail would be black, your video less clicked, and it can't be told from its reposts. Start on a clear, readable image of your characters.
- A title card is fine if it shows the characters.
4. What the algorithm likes
The feed scores every video with :
- its score on rule34 (the votes),
- its freshness : a new video gets a boost during its first days,
- the format : vertical, with sound, credited to an artist,
- how it performs on SoloQ : watched to the end, liked and saved rather than skipped.
The same animation posted several times is grouped : only its best version is shown, so post once, well tagged, rather than reposting.
5. What is never shown
SoloQ never shows content with minors or characters looking underage, non consensual acts, gore, bestiality or scat, whatever its tags. Some niches (futanari, furry, AI generated…) are only shown to the viewers who look for them.
