How the SoloQ Feed Works
SoloQ indexes more than 500,000 rule34 videos and refreshes them every six hours. The feed picks the next videos for you among them. Here is what it looks at, and how to make it yours.
What the feed learns from
- Likes and saves : the strongest signals. A like on a Widowmaker animation brings more Widowmaker, more of its animator, and more Overwatch.
- What you watch to the end : a video watched until it loops counts as a quiet like.
- What you skip : leaving a video within a couple of seconds counts a little against its tags.
- Not interested : in the ⋯ menu, it removes the video and lowers everything similar.
Not every tag counts the same : an artist tells more about your tastes than a game, a game more than a generic tag. Rare tags count more than common ones, and old signals slowly fade.
Why you see what you see
Under each video, a small label tells why it is there : Because you like Overwatch, For you, Popular, New or Trending on SoloQ. One video in four is chosen to explore, so your feed never closes on itself.
No duplicates
The same animation is often posted several times : reposts, other resolutions, watermarks, subtitles. SoloQ recognizes them by their image and shows only the best version. A video you already watched does not come back for three weeks, and a video you hid never comes back.
Videos that work come back
Every view, like, save and skip on SoloQ feeds an engagement score. The videos people watch to the end and save the most get a second life in everyone's feed.
